Tui Na (massage therapy)

Dr. G Uses Tui NA

Tui Na ( “twee-na”) is a branch of TCVM combining acupressure, conventional massage, and chiropractic therapy to regulate energy imbalances in the body.

Tui Na means to push/pull-lift. This hands on therapy soothes aching muscles and joints, strained tendons and ligaments, and promotes the circulation of Qi and blood. Tui Na builds the immune system and supports the normal functions of the internal organs. While two pets may have the same type of pain, they may be caused by different deficiencies. Dr. G will use TCVM to diagnose your pet and treat accordingly.

The six groups of Tui Na techniques are rotary movement of the practitioner’s hand or fingers, direct friction to the skin by hands or fingers, perpendicular pressure at different depths and areas to change body tissue and activate acupoints, vibration or shaking for deep body and penetration to rally Qi and blood, passive range of motion on the limbs and waist, and chiropractic-like bone manipulations.
